The Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell is located within the west midlands of England and has got a large population of just over 328,000 people since the year of 2019. Sandwell’s Metropolitan Borough was established in 1974. However, for the first 12 or so years of being around, the borough used a local government two tier system. Educationally, the borough of Sandwell is home to over 100 different primary schools, including 25 different further education secondary schools and 1 further educational college. However, in the terms of sports, the borough of Sandwell is home of the West Bromwich Albion Football Club, which historically was founded over 148 years ago.
Furthermore, Sandwell is home to some amazing leisure places from the Sandwell Aquatics Centre and the Sandwell Valley to the valley country park and Warley Woods. It is also home to the Sandwell College that was established and opened back in 1986 with a student population of 6000 people. Along the college, Sandwell is also home to a high school known as Holly Lodge which was opened in 1922. Historically Sandwell has been known in the industry of mental works especially in the work of nail making as these dates back to the Middle Ages when the material known as coal was mined back in the 13th Century. Within today’s society Sandwell is a very important centre for engineering and for Iron Foundries that are producing a strong range of metal products.
However, in the present day, Sandwell is known to be a very popular hotspot for an activity to what is known to people as car crushing, but during 2015, it was decided that a high court order was to be introduced to ban this within the area of Sandwell. However, this was secured to run only until the year of 2021. Internationally, Sandwell is twinned with many countries internationally such as Le Blanc Mesnil in France, Zalau in Romana, and Amritsar in India. The Metropolitan Borough is made up of six main towns which are Oldbury, Wednesbury, Smethwick, Tipton, Rowley Regies and West Bromwich.
Geographically, it is shown that two motorways cover the borough which in total cover an area of 33 square miles. Data shows that the latest life expectancy at birth for those who live in Sandwell is over 77 years for men and 81 years for women. However, it is also said that health within Sandwell is Poorer than the average within England.
Fostering UK is an Independent Fostering Agency that is searching for individuals that live in and around North Watford, including Gammons Lane, St Albans Road, Gadeside. West Watford, Rickmansworth Road, Vicarage Road towards Croxley Green and surrounding areas such as Holywell, The Rookery, Bushey, Patchetts Green.

Fostering UK welcome applicants from all backgrounds, we just ask that you have a spare bedroom in your home and be a full time UK resident and have appropriate rights to remain in the country. The most important thing to us here at Fostering UK is that you are dedicated, patient and committed.
Fostering UK offer Foster Carers based in Sandwell an allowance ranging between £400 – £700 per week, dependent on the type of placement you can offer as well as the age and personal circumstance of a child as well as a 24/7 support package. When fostering with Fostering UK, you are not alone, our whole team is dedicated to the wellbeing of you, your family, and the child you care for.
Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted our mission is provide empathic, committed therapeutically trained Foster Carers to each Local Authority we work with, including Watford Borough Council.
